Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue Chief Kevin Kloehn has announced he plans to retire. PC: Fox 11 Online
NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – After nearly 32 years of service, Chief Kevin Kloehn of the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue has announced he plans to retire.
In his resignation, Kloehn wrote, “I have put everything I have into this department with great pride and accomplishment! I have worked alongside a group of dedicated employees that helped set the bar high. It has been the greatest experience of my life to lead this department into the future.”
Kloehn began his career as a firefighter with the City of Menasha in 1992 and served as the Union President when the Neenah and Menasha fire departments consolidated in 2003.
Throughout his career, Kloehn has held multiple positions, including firefighter, lieutenant, captain and shift commander. He was promoted to fire chief in 2016.
“It has been such an honor to have worked with Chief Kloehn over the past nine years. His professionalism and sincere commitment to serving our two communities is truly admirable,” City of Neenah Mayor Jane Lang said in a news release.
Applications are currently being accepted for Kloehn’s replacement and can be found on the City of Neenah website. Kloehn’s last day as chief will be Jan. 12, 2024.
