Sturgeon Bay Police Officer Braves Flames to Save Trapped Cows in Barn Fire

STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It was a moo-ving rescue in Door County, all captured on video.

Sturgeon Bay Police Department shared bodycam footage of an officer saving three cows locked inside a barn that was on fire.

On June 25, just before 6 a.m., an officer noticed black smoke coming from a barn.

After calling the fire in, the officer ran toward the barn and unlocked gates to free the cows, while flames and smoke filled one end of the barn.

According to the department’s Facebook page, everyone was safe.
