GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Green Bay Police Department should be getting some extra nutrients, thanks to the Farm to Force partnership.
The department’s partnership with Wello provided staff with fresh produce on Monday. The fruits and vegetables are intended to be used for grab-and-go bags, making it easier for officers to maintain healthy eating.
“It’s important that we empower our employees to eat healthy because that is what gives us the energy for the great service,” explained GBPD Operations Commander Kevin Warych. “It gives us the energy to provide the great service that we provide the community every single day.”
The police department is just the latest group joining the Farm to School and Cultivating Community initiatives through Wello.
Two more produce drops are scheduled for the department — one in August and one in September.
