KIEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An unattended candle is suspected of starting a fire in an apartment in Kiel Monday morning.
Firefighters say they were called to 632 Fremont St. around 8:30 a.m. for a report that smoke was filling the apartment.
When they arrived, crews confirmed the fire was out. It took about an hour and a half to ventilate the apartment and conduct salvage and overhaul operations.
One person was evaluated by first responders on the scene and released.
No damage estimate was available.
