GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The construction worker injured at Lambeau Field last week has died, according to the contractor.
Mavid Construction owner Zoar Fulwilder says the worker died on Saturday. The worker was a second-generation employee and worked alongside his father and brother.
The company did not release the worker’s name, citing the family’s privacy.
“Our main concern is for the well-being of our employee’s family, our team members who were on the project site, and our entire team who worked with this employee. His decision to be an organ donor will save many lives,” Fulwilder said in a statement.
The worker became trapped Thursday morning. Firefighters needed to extricate him, a process which took about seven minutes, Chief Matthew Knott said. The worker was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The incident happened on the north end of the stadium, where work on a new scoreboard is ongoing.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
