GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Tuesday meant St. Nick had come to town, but some children also got a visit from a Green Bay Packer.
Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard visited HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital in Green Bay Tuesday to spread holiday cheer. He went from room to room, chatting it up with the kids.
Lazard says it was fun checking in with the kids and seeing what was on their Christmas list and even sharing what’s on his. He also gifted the children with presents, including Packers gear of course.
But it wasn’t just talk of presents and what’s under the tree.
“I wanted to use my platform today to inspire these kids and hopefully give them some holiday cheer,” said Lazard. “I really enjoyed spending quality time with them trying to make them laugh, smile and enjoy the moment.”
Lazard has previously shown his support for families impacted by cancer on the field as well.
As part of the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats campaign, Lazard raised awareness for the HEADstrong Foundation — an organization that offers financial, residential and emotional support to impacted families.
