GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Green Bay Police Department and Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers are teaming up to stop catalytic converter thefts. Through a $1.5 thousand grant from the Brown County Crime Prevention Funding Board, Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers will now be able to offer double their reward when a resident shares information regarding catalytic converter thefts. Reward amounts vary depending on what type of information is received.
“It’s important for vehicle owners to park their car in areas that are well populated and well lit.” said Kevin Warych, Commander of Operations for the Green Bay Police Department. “Most importantly, check on your vehicle.”
So far this year, the Green Bay Police Department has had 77 catalytic converter thefts.
