TOWN OF CHARLESTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A De Pere teen is dead after a crash in Calumet County.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office was called to Lemke Road, north of US Highway 151 in the town of Charleston Thursday night shortly after 7:45.
A single vehicle traveling north left the road and struck a tree.
Two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
A 16-year-old girl from De Pere was driving the vehicle with a 17-year-old boy from Green Bay.
The driver died at the scene. The 17-year-old passenger was flown to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
There’s no indications that drugs or alcohol were involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
