The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled into American Family Field having won 36 of their last 40 games. Make it 37 of 41. Julio Urias and four relievers combined on a four hit shutout as L.A. took the series opener 4-0 Monday night. Urias picked up his 13th win by working five scoreless innings. He gave up all four hits as the bullpen mowed down the Crew to the finish. Freddie Freeman took Freddy Peralta deep with a solo home run in the first inning and that’s all the Dodgers (80-34) would need. Peralta ran his pitch count up with 4 walks and left after four innings giving up the one run on two hits with three strikeouts. Los Angeles added another run in the 5th and then Kenosha Indian Trails High School graduate Gavin Lux hit a two run shot off Hoby Milner in the sixth with a lot of family members in the stands to watch it leave the yard. Rowdy Tellez had two of the four hits for the Brewers. Tyrone Taylor had a lead-off double in the third but was left stranded. Milwaukee went 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position. The loss drops the Brewers to 61-53 and now two full games behind the idle St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central race and they’re also two games behind San Diego for the third and final Wild Card spot in the National League. Brandon Woodruff will get the start in game two of the series Tuesday night. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:35 PM with a 7:10 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
