OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — EAA celebrated a new expansion to its facilities Tuesday in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
It’s the first expansion to the Aviation Center in more than 20 years.
There are three parts to the $6.2 million addition, the Pilot Proficiency Center, the Youth Education Center, and the EAA Conference Center.
The expansion will give all ages access to aviation training.
EAA says completing this center has been a goal for a long time.
“There are already kids up here learning right now as we speak. We know it’s going to have a major impact of getting kids interested in aviation and STEM learning. And our goal as an organization is we want aviation to be the safest form and enjoyable for people so that it doesn’t become something people are scared of. And this just helps that,” said CEO of EAA Jack Pelton.
The expansion will allow visitors to enjoy what EAA has to offer on a year-round basis.
