GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — UW-Green Bay is that latest UW college to reach the 70% student COVID-19 vaccination goal.
The goal was encouraged by UW System’s 70 for 70 campaign. Once a UW college reaches 70%, students will be eligible for scholarships.
“I continue to be incredibly proud of how our students have persevered throughout the pandemic,” said UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander. “We want students to continue to have an amazing experience at UW-Green Bay. The 70% vaccination milestone helps everyone stay safe and on track to reach their educational goals.”
Additionally, about 80% of UW-Green Bay faculty and staff are vaccinated. Of the 2,000 students who live on the Green Bay campus, 76% have submitted verification of vaccination. Students who live on campus and don’t submit verification undergo weekly surveillance testing for COVID-19.
UW-Stevens Point also announced it reached the 70% threshold.
UW-Oshkosh, UW-Whitewater, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Eau Claire and UW-LaCrosse have all surpassed the 70% goal.
