SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Every Wednesday, 2-year-old Emma White and her dad, Max, have the same morning routine.
They wait for ‘Garbage Man Brian’ to visit their house.
“I don’t know. She just loves it. It’s kinda her thing. She’s usually in bed and she’ll hear it on the road and get all excited and jump up and want to come flying out of bed, and, usually, we’re in our pajamas and have a cup of coffee,” said Max White.
The famous garbageman is Brian Brzozowski with Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal.
“She’s pretty excited, just seeing me, she was excited coming through here in the truck,” said Brzozowski.
But one show isn’t enough for Emma. Once she waves at Brian from her driveway, she makes her way across the street to the neighbors, for an encore, with her baby sister Aubrey by her side.
Max says Garbage Man Brian gave Emma a gift of a lifetime during a recent stop: a custom t-shirt and her very own truck.
“She went pretty crazy right away. She didn’t put the garbage truck down, and it’s been three weeks now. It made her really happy,” said Max.
“Yeah, I had work make up some t-shirts for the kids because normally, they’re for us ,the workers, and I’m like, ‘get me some kid sizes so I can hand them out to the kids and the garbage trucks I picked those up myself,’” said Brzozowski.
Emma and Aubrey aren’t garbageman Brian‘s only fans in Suamico.
“No, it’s a lot of people. It has been awesome! With the COVID, I had people waiting on lawn chairs for me,” said Brzozowski.
And Brian brought the same gift for every child that watches the truck.
“It definitely brings more enjoyment to my job with all these people to come out and see me and thank me for doing my job,” said Brzozowski.
Max is the best part, Brian doesn’t do this for fame or recognition.
“He just does it cause he’s a good guy,” said Max.
Once a show is over, and the truck is out of sight, and I helped her dad make sure bins are put away. She goes back inside with her toy truck and tow, and wait for the next Wednesday visit from Garbage Man Brian.
