LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – An Appleton man is dead after a semi struck him while he was riding his bike.
Just before 10:50am Monday morning, Fox Valley Metro Police responded near the intersection of E. North Avenue and Freedom Road in the Village of Little Chute for a crash involving a semi-tractor with trailer and a bicyclist.
85-year-old James Van Asten was taken to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The roadway remained closed for several hours for traffic crash reconstruction but has
since reopened.
