APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — COVID-19 related logistical problems are plaguing nearly every industry.
And now…they’re impacting lunch.
At the Appleton School District, their food service providers are saying some food is getting harder to come by.
“We’re seeing a little bit of that locally,” said Kay Eggert, the president of the Appleton Area School District Board. “Our food vendor has been working to make sure that, obviously, we are still feeding kids.”
It’s going to result in some menu changes.
“We are needing to do more frequent substitutions,” Eggert told WTAQ. “But it’s not as though there is an overall shortage of food.”
Parents are being urged to contact and communicate with the school in order to make sure food allergies are accommodated.
