TOWN OF WASHINGTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Washington Island police are thanking bystanders who tried to resuscitate a man on a beach.
Police say they were called to School House Beach just after 5 p.m. Saturday. A 26-year-old man, who had been underwater for an undetermined amount of time, was unconscious. By the time emergency crews arrived, bystanders had begun attempting life-saving efforts.
The man was taken to the hospital. As of Monday, an update on his condition was not available.
Police are not releasing the man’s name as the investigation continues.
