GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Prevea Health’s CEO is encouraging people to keep their masks on.
That’s in spite of a number of cities and school districts and letting mask mandates expire, or striking them down entirely. Dr. Ashok Rai says regardless of mandate, masks are still a good idea.
“This is not the time to unmask,” Rai told WTAQ. “So however local governments feel the best way to accomplish that, that’s up to the local government, but right now would not be the time to unmask.”
Rai said he does see an unmasked world around the corner, however.
“We’re getting there,” Rai said. “We’re getting to a point where indoor masking you know may not be needed as much as, say it’s needed now, but our vaccination rates aren’t quite there yet.”
Rai says he believes most places will continue to require or at least encourage masking. The City of Green Bay allowed its mask mandate to expire earlier this month.
