ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Oneida Casino and I-MAC locations will be re-opening as of at 8:00 a.m. this morning after being shut down following a deadly shooting at the adjacent Duck Creek Kitchen and Bar, inside of the Radisson Hotel.
Police say 62-year-old Bruce Pofhal shot and killed two employees of the restaurant. Pofhal, a former employee of the restaurant, was fired earlier this year. It’s unclear how long he worked there.
Investigators believe the shooting was targeted. Pofahl allegedly shot and killed 35 year old Jacob Bartel and 32 year old Ian Simpson. 28-year-old Daniel Mulligan was also injured and hospitalized. Pofahl was shot and killed by three Green Bay police officers. The officers are on administrative leave.
Oneida Nation and Casino officials say taking care of all employees is the top priority. To help the community move forward and heal, the Oneida nation held a Tobacco burning ceremony at the complex Wednesday. It started with the burning of tobacco and ended with a smudging process.
A community wide ceremony will be held Saturday morning at 9 a-m at the Oneida Pow Wow Grounds.
Anyone who left personal items at the casino last week can claim them by calling 920-429-3395.
