APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend and killing her daughter withdrew a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect on Wednesday.
Demetrius Williams, 26, faces three charges: first degree intentional homicide, attempted homicide, and attempted homicide of an unborn child, for the Feb. 26 incident in Appleton. Williams allegedly killed Zyana Corbin, and stabbed her mother, Tiana. Tiana was pregnant with Williams’ child. Williams became upset when she said she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him.
The trial is still scheduled to begin March 1, but instead of two weeks, it’s now set for one.
Williams and Matthew Beyer – who faces separate charges for allegedly killing his two children – allegedly tried to break out of the jail on June 7. They did not get out of the cellblock, much less the building.
