ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Voting is well underway in Wisconsin.
Freezing temperatures and a guy yelling at people with a megaphone didn’t deter voters from lining up at the Johnsonville Tailgate Center in the shadow of Lambeau Field this morning right as polls opened.
The lines looked long, which worried Dan, who waited in line for four hours on election day in April, but he didn’t have any second thoughts.
“I didn’t have a chance to vote early because of my work schedule,” he told WTAQ.
He’s ready for the election madness to be over.

A man stands on the corner of Oneida and Armed Forces Drive shouting at voters with a megaphone on election day, November 3rd, 2020.
“I’d like to find some form of normalcy,” Dan said. “Not looking for this to become the new normal.”
Over 54% of Green Bay voters already cast their ballot before election day. Among those who didn’t were Angie and Ian, a mother and son who have been going to to polls on election day since Ian was born.
“He’s come with me to every single presidential election so this was important for us to do together,” Angie told WTAQ. “We are Packer fans, so we know how to dress appropriately for cold weather.”
Ian didn’t just observe this time. He got to cast a ballot–his first ever.
“It was amazing,” he said. “Just using your right to use your voice somehow…gotta do it.”
A gentleman with a megaphone did stand at the corner of Oneida Street and Armed Forces drive to shout at those in line for about a half hour shortly after the polls opened. The man was upset over the Packers hosting a polling place, and held a sign that said “Support Police, Not Rapists”.
