MADISON, WI (METRO) – Within hours of saying there are nearly enough signatures to recall Governor Tony Evers, the woman at the center of the recall said she makes things up.
Misty Polewczynski yesterday told people in a Facebook group not to believe the numbers. She said she makes things up, and likes to make the media look dumb.
Polewczynski had said she had more than the 668-thousand signatures it would take to recall the governor.
She later said her comments were taken out of context, and likely wouldn’t be talking to the press any more.
Polewczynski has accused Evers and Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes of gross negligence over the handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the summer violence in Kenosha after the shooting of Jacob Blake.
