APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A 61 year old male inmate who was being held in the Outagamie County Jail since June 26, 2020 experienced a medical emergency on Friday, October 16, 2020.
The man was housed in a general population housing unit and was last observed by a correctional officer at 2217 hours.
At 2230 hours a correctional officer noted the inmate was in medical distress and correctional and medical staff immediately began life savings measures including CPR.
Paramedics were called to assist and the man was transferred to a hospital where he died on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
The man was serving a sentence for Burglary-Building or Dwelling, Criminal Damage to Property and Theft-Moveable Property.
There is no indication this death is related to Covid-19.
