MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) – 14 people are out of their homes after an apartment fire in Menasha.
It happened around 9 p.m. last night (Sunday) on Geneva Road.
A resident lit a fire in a fireplace earlier in the evening but didn’t know the chimney was blocked off.
The attic caught on fire after the residents left.
The neighbors smelled smoke and called the police.
Everyone got out safely.
Several apartments were heavily damaged.
The displaced families are now working with the Red Cross.
