GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – As the election nears, Green Bay police say there is an increase in campaign sign vandalism on both sides.
A Trump merchandise store operator found his building on Military Avenue in Green Bay vandalized Sunday morning.
Homemade signs with phrases against police and the president were found outside.
Other signs included ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter.
The operator reported an unknown liquid was sprayed on the storefront windows and a trailer.
Green Bay Police say there was no permanent damage done to the building.
“I had a young lady yesterday drive by and she was standing in front of the store and she told me she was going to burn the store to the ground,” said Jason Walker, Trump store owner,” haven’t got that before. Now people honk and they are screaming louder.”
Green Bay police say they have seen vandalism escalate as the election nears.
They say damage to a political sign, is considered damage to personal property.
