OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — UW Oshkosh was one of a number of universities across the country targeted by a slew of bomb threats on Thursday.
The UWO Police Department’s dispatch center received multiple calls Thursday night just after 10:30 from several phone numbers. On the other end of the calls, reportedly, was a distorted voice who told dispatchers there were nail bombs on campus.
“Anytime we receive calls like this, we have to treat it seriously,” said Capt. Chris Tarmann of the UWO Police Department. “We brought in our bomb dog to check our campus buildings and worked with Fond du Lac and Menasha police departments to check our campuses in those communities.”
No bombs or suspicious activity was detected. The incident remains under investigation.
