GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One of the suspects charged in connection with the murder of a teenager during a drug deal was convicted Wednesday.
Colton Kehoe, 18, will be sentenced Sept. 25 after pleading no contest to first-degree reckless homicide and obstructing Wednesday. An armed robbery count was dropped, according to a court officials.
Federico Abarca, 18, was shot and killed during a drug deal for marijuana vaping cartridges on Feb. 22, 2019. Kehoe, Jared Williquette, Jarid Stevens and Gavin Rock were charged with being party to first-degree intentional homicide.
Williquette, 22, allegedly shot Abarca, although his attorney maintains it was self-defense
He is also charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, as well as misdemeanor counts of obstruction and bail jumping. He told police he used a 9mm Smith & Wesson in the shooting, according to the complaint. He returns to court Aug. 12 for a plea hearing.
Gavin Rock, 18, allegedly set up the deal. He is charged with being party to reckless homicide, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, as well as misdemeanor counts of obstruction and bail jumping. He also returns to court Aug. 12.
Stevens, 20, also faces counts of being party to reckless homicide, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, plus misdemeanor obstructing. Stevens also returns to court Aug. 12.
Green Bay police said Rock set up a drug deal with Abarca on Snapchat. The four went to Abarca’s apartment planning to steal five vaping cartridges that contained THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
