GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An armed robbery at a Green Bay business is being investigated.
It happened at the Subway on West Mason Street around 8 pm Thursday.
Lieutenant Rick Bellanger says a possible Hispanic male produced a knife and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“The assailant told the staff or the employee to go into a cooler. The employee was never physically locked in the cooler. At some point, they came out and called for police.”
No injuries have been reported.
Five similar incidents have been reported this month, three in Green Bay and two in surrounding communities, Ashwaubenon and De Pere.
“It’s definitely safe to say there appears to be some connections and similarities. We want it to stop, and we want to catch the person. We’re going to continue to work all of them.”
Bellanger suggests businesses have at least two employees working at all times.
“If (the employees) happen to see vehicles pull in and people not getting out, driving real slow, or something that just doesn’t seem right. If somebody’s waiting in a vehicle outside and you can see that they’re wearing a ski mask, lock the door and give police a call.”
