GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The suspect accused of causing a double fatal crash in Brown County has had charges re-filed against him.
Devon Robley was due in court Tuesday for his arraignment hearing, however, it turned into an initial appearance and a preliminary hearing was scheduled December 5.
Robley is facing 4 counts, including two of homicide by a vehicle while using a controlled substance. The crash, which happened on July 11, killed Simon Hill and Laurie Shaha.
According to Brown County Assistant DA Eric Enli, prosecutors failed to file the information (a court document outlining the charges) by Friday’s deadline. Because of that, the original case file was closed and a new case created.
Robley’s attorney did not object to the re-filing.
Police say the then-17-year-old Robley was with friends at Fonferek Glen County Park in Ledgeview where he allegedly smoked marijuana. Robley then allegedly drove south on Glenmore Road and failed to stop at a stop sign and slammed into another car.
Robley allegedly told investigators that he may have been driving 70 miles per hour at the time.
