MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A month-long drug investigation in Manitowoc County yielded the arrests of three Texas men and the seizure of 20 pounds of cocaine.
Arturo Vara, Juan Villarreal and Herbert Harrison — all from San Antonio, Texas — were arrested last Wednesday, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post Monday. Online court records show charges were filed Friday.
The multi-agency investigation began after the Manitowoc Police Department identified that the men were transporting cocaine from Texas to Manitowoc County for distribution. Throughout the course of the investigation, authorities coordinated the shipment of eight kilograms of cocaine to Manitowoc County.
Last week’s arrest operation was executed once it was confirmed Vara, Villarreal and Harrison had arrived in Manitowoc County with the cocaine and delivered it. Approximately 20 pounds of cocaine was recovered, along with methamphetamine and a stolen firearm.
During their bail hearings last Thursday, $750,000 cash bonds were set for Villarreal and Harrison. A $500,000 cash bond was set for Vara. The men are currently being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on various drug charges, including manufacture/deliver cocaine as a repeater. Harrison is also charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
