TOWN OF LITTLE RIVER (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person died and another is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Friday in Oconto County.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office was notified of a crash involving a passenger car and a pickup truck. It happened on U.S. Highway 41 near the intersection of County Highway W in the town of Little River.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found both vehicles in the median with extensive damage. The truck was overturned.
Initial investigation determined the truck had just completed a turn south onto the highway from CTH W when the car, also traveling south, drove into the rear of the truck, shoving both vehicles into the median.
The driver of the truck, a 64-year-old Oconto man, was pronounced dead. The 39-year-old driver of the car was taken to a Green Bay hospital with injuries.
According to a news release, “An ongoing criminal investigation is being conducted by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.”
