MAYVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Thursday evening storms brought significant damage to the Dodge County cities of Mayville and Juneau, emergency management officials said.
The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in Dodge County.
The city of Mayville has declared a state of emergency due to the damage.
The Mayville Police Department says it’s currently open for business, but its phones and internet are down. If you have an emergency, call 911. For non-emergencies, call Dodge County Dispatch at (920) 386-3726 ext.8.
Authorities say only a few injuries have been reported so far. That includes one person who was hospitalized.
There are trees uprooted and buildings and homes damaged.
Many streets and highways are closed due to power lines and trees being down. Officials are asking that all non–residents avoid the cities of Juneau and Mayville to allow emergency responders to assist those affected.
City of Juneau residents who have been displaced from their homes should report to Dodgeland Schools 401, S. Western Ave, Juneau, WI.
City of Mayville residents who have been displaced from their homes should report to the Tag Center, 1700 Breckenridge St, Mayville.
A brat fry planned for Juneau for National Police Week has been canceled Friday due to storm damage.
Red Cross and Dodge County Health and Human Services/Public Health are on scene to assist.
