ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Football fans from across the United States are in Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Texans fan Pati Cream was named the “Fan of the Year” for Houston. She says she’s excited to take on the draft and to see Lambeau Field again.
“We’re excited. We’ve been here for a game. It was a bucket list, and it is by far the best stadium I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to 26 of them,” she said.
For Cream, being the “Fan of the Year” has its perks.
She got flown to the draft by the Texans, and she’ll have a part in her team’s pick Thursday night.
“I get to hand the jersey tonight to our first pick to Roger Goodell, and Saturday I get to announce a pick,” she said.
Dwayne Carpenter is in town from Louisiana came to support his favorite team.
“Well, we’re Saints fans first, so Saints pick earlier than Green Bay. We’re Packers fans as well,” Carpenter said. “But yeah, curious to see what the Saints do at number nine. That’s how bad we were.”
Others aren’t completely focused on the picks. Warren Ortig from Louisiana is also a Saints fan.
“Who cares? It’s all great, it’s going to be great!”
James Squires from San Antonio said this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“That it’s here in one of the bucket list locations for a football fan. Coming up here to see Lambeau and things like that as well, it’s a truly remarkable event,” he told us.
And for Titans fan Blake Perkins, it’s a yearly journey.
“We actually travel to the draft every year,” Perkins said. “So, we like to take in the local environment, meet some new people and honestly, try out some of the food.”
The NFL is expecting around 300,000 fans to attend the draft.
