OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The city of Oshkosh has begun recruiting candidates for the open fire chief position.
Officials are looking for input from residents through a survey on what qualities they seek in a fire chief.
Click here to take the survey through March 2.
An interview process is tentatively scheduled for late March/early April, and the Police and Fire Commission plans to hear from three additional panels of interviewers representing diverse and pertinent backgrounds.
Additionally, the city will hold a Meet and Greet, where citizens and the general public will be able to meet the selected finalists, ask them questions and provide feedback to the Police and Fire Commission.
Officials hope the new fire chief will begin their position in June or July.
The new fire chief will replace Chief Mike Stanley who took a job in Greeley, Colorado.
His last day was Jan. 29.
