(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) COLUMBUS, Ohio –A strong second half from the Ohio State Buckeyes was the difference on Monday night, as the Green Bay men’s basketball team fell on the road 102-69. Ohio State outscored GB 60-37 in the second half.
Anthony Roy led the Phoenix with his third-straight 30+ point performance, pouring in 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 8-of-12 shooting from three-point range. Roy’s eight threes are tied for his most in a game this season.
The Buckeyes spread the ball around, with seven players finishing in double-figure scoring. Bruce Thornton led the way with 25 points to go with nine assists. As a team, OSU shot 55.9-percent from the field and 45.2-percent from deep.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Ohio State scored the half’s first five points, and never trailed the rest of the way. After building the lead out to 14, the Phoenix was able to cut it to 10 at 42-32 before heading into halftime.
The Green & White traded baskets with OSU before eventually cutting the Ohio State led to just seven with 12:38 to go after a made jump-hook from Roee Oselka. That was the closest it would get, however, as the Buckeyes outscored GB 44-18 in the final game’s final 12 minutes.

» Green Bay also shot fairly well, finishing 49.0-percent from the floor and 41.7-percent from deep.
» Mac Wrecke scored a career-high eight points off the bench.
» OSU outscored GB 46-24 in the paint.
» Ohio State had 37 rebounds to Green Bay’s 23.
