REEDSBURG, Wis.–University of Wisconsin-Whitewater captured the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship (presented by Culver’s) at Reedsburg Country Club on Oct. 6.
The league title is the eighth consecutive and 10th overall. The 10 first-place finishes are the most of any WIAC program. UW-Whitewater secured this year’s 54-hole championship with 958 strokes and earned the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 13-16, 2025, at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
UW-Stout placed second with 967 strokes, UW-La Crosse third with 976, UW-Oshkosh fourth with 989, UW-Platteville fifth with 1,014, UW-Eau Claire sixth with 1,020, UW-River Falls seventh with 1,039 and UW-Stevens Point eighth with 1,065.
UW-Stout’s Julia Imai secured the individual title, topping the 76-player field with 229 strokes. UW-Whitewater’s Kallie Lux finished second with 236 strokes, while UW-La Crosse’s Jenna Wiebke and UW-Whitewater’s Haley Myers tied for third with 239 strokes.
UW-Oshkosh’s Ava Downie and UW-Whitewater’s Ellie Johnson tied for fifth with 242 strokes, while UW-La Crosse’s Haley Thoeny and UW-Stout’s Brin Neumann tied for seventh with 243 strokes.
UW-Stout head coach Sophia Connett claimed Kwik Trip Coach of the Year honors, while UW-Whitewater’s Ellie Johnson received the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.
An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school. Named to the squad were: UW-Eau Claire’s Elizabeth Hermann; UW-La Crosse’s Allie McBryde; UW-Oshkosh’s Alyssa Dreher; UW-Platteville’s Jada Chang; UW-River Falls’ Sydney Burgess; UW-Stevens Point’s Megan Bonikowske; UW-Stout’s Peyton Zipperer; and UW-Whitewater’s Abbie Reiser.
