(WNFL/LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers threw a lot of passes last Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Falling behind a lot early led to the Packers attempting 54 passes which is certainly more than they would like to throw but it had an unexpected benefit.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love said that getting 54 pass attempts last week helped him in his return to form.
Love was also encouraged by taking a couple of hits last week and coming out of it just fine.
Love said that he expects to return to moving around and using his legs.
The Packers quarterback also talked about what he expects from the Rams defense.
The Packers and Rams kick off at about 3:25 Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
Green Bay Packers offer week long salute to military members and veterans: The Green Bay Packers will honor military members and veterans through a variety of events as part of the organization’s Military Appreciation Week from Saturday, Oct. 5, to Friday, Oct. 11.
This special week of activities is being held in conjunction with the organization’s Salute to Service campaign, presented by Fleet Farm, which will also recognize servicemembers throughout the
month of November.
- The events include:
• Saturday, Oct. 5: Stars and Stripes Honor Flight – Several Packers alumni will join Wisconsin veterans on a day trip to Washington, D.C. Plane will depart from Austin Straubel International Airport at 7 a.m. and return at 9:15 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 7, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Staff Give Back Day – Packers staff will put together care packages for veteran residents of Woodside Senior Communities. Staff will then deliver the packages, play bingo and visit with the veterans.
• Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: T.A.P.S. Event – Family members of five fallen military members will have lunch and receive a tour of Lambeau Field as part of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors; Packers players will join them to paint and assemble a flag in the Lambeau Field Legends Club Room.
• Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m.: Order of St. Maurice – 10-12 military members will receive the Order of St. Maurice, awarded for significant contributions to the Infantry. Ceremony will
take place on the Lambeau Field North Loft.
• Thursday, Oct. 10, from noon to 6 p.m.: Veteran Integration Program – The Mark Divine Courage Foundation will provide training to veterans on ways to mitigate the mental health effects of post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and traumatic brain injury on the Lambeau Field 6th Floor Indoor Club Level.
• Friday, Oct. 11, from noon to 6 p.m.: Veteran Integration Program – Continuation of Thursday’s training with the Mark Divine Courage Foundation on the Lambeau Field 6th Floor Indoor Club Level.
• Friday, Oct. 11, beginning at 9:30 a.m.: Salute to Service Tournament – Teams comprised of several branches of the military will compete in a flag football tournament at the Titletown
Football Field.
Packers, NFL and GENYOUth to host Taste of the Draft fundraiser: With the 2025 NFL Draft less than seven months away, the Green Bay Packers, NFL and nonprofit GENYOUth announced today the debut of a brand-new experience on the eve of the Draft: Taste of the Draft, presented by Schreiber Foods.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell joined Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy in Green Bay on Thursday, along with representatives from GENYOUth and Schreiber Foods, to make the announcement.
Set for Wednesday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schreiber Foods headquarters in downtown Green Bay, this brand-new philanthropic event will showcase an extraordinary blend of Wisconsin cuisine, culinary traditions and supper club culture while raising funds to benefit national nonprofit GENYOUth’s efforts to tackle student hunger in Wisconsin. Taste of the Draft 2025 is the first event of its kind in conjunction with the Draft, modeled after the popular Taste of the NFL event held each year during Super Bowl weekend.
“We’re looking forward to being a part of the first-ever Taste of the Draft event here in Green Bay,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “In Wisconsin, we are proud of how our unique supper club traditions and culture brings people together. We are pleased to be able to share that culture in conjunction with the NFL Draft while raising critical funds for Wisconsin schools to address food insecurity and help their students thrive and succeed.”
Noted culinary master, TV personality and author Andrew Zimmern will host Taste of the Draft 2025 and guests will enjoy entertainment through the evening and the chance to mingle with Packers and NFL Legends. With a nod to the full supper club experience, guests will taste everything from soup to nuts – or rather, relish trays to after-dinner drinks – with culinary experiences featuring fare from beloved Wisconsin supper clubs, curated spirits and salad bar favorites, as well as a showcase of the state’s best cheese and dairy products.

Nearly half of Wisconsin students qualify for free or reduced priced school meals based on household income and 1 in 6 Wisconsin children lives in food insecurity. GENYOUth, in collaboration with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, has awarded school nutrition grants to over 500 Wisconsin schools with a combined enrollment of over 250,000 students, providing students with increased access to 35 million meals each year. Physical activity grants have been awarded to over 650 Wisconsin schools engaging close to 300,000 students in physical activity before, during, and after school.
Additionally, Taste of the Draft is seeking tradition-rich and well-regarded Wisconsin supper clubs from throughout the state to take part in the event, which will offer chefs the opportunity to show and tell the story of their dishes and mingle with event guests.
