FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two men were arrested after a traffic stop in Fond du Lac County uncovered fentanyl and methamphetamine.
It happened in the early morning hours of July 25, according to a Facebook post Friday by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say a deputy observed a vehicle on I-41 traveling significantly below the speed limit. The deputy conducted a registration check and learned the vehicle’s owner had a suspended driver’s license.
The traffic stop eventually turned into a drug investigation, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 230 grams of methamphetamine and 30 grams of fentanyl.
Driving the vehicle was a 39-year-old Phillips man. A 30-year-old Appleton man was his passenger.
Both men have previous felony drug-related convictions and were out on probation at the time of the traffic stop for previous charges.
Both were charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and fentanyl, with modifiers for repeat offenses. $10,000 cash bonds were set for both men on these new charges.
The FDLCSO’s post said the Phillips man “is now in prison” and the Appleton man is in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
