(WTAQ-WLUK) — A federal grant is helping fund affordable housing for the Oneida Nation Tribe.
More than $20 million was awarded to four tribes across Wisconsin to invest in affordable housing projects.
It comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) Competitive Grant Program.
The following projects received funding under the HUD IHBG program:
- Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin – Over $5.2 million will be used by Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin to build 11 housing units.
- Lac Courte Oreilles Housing Authority – $3 million will be used by the Lac Courte Oreilles to build 12 housing units.
- Oneida Nation – $6 million will be used by the Oneida Nation to build 16 housing units.
- Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians – $5.8 million will be used by the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians to build 20 housing units.
