TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Two Rivers man is being held in the Manitowoc County Jail after threatening to stab a woman, damaging her property, and fleeing from police on Friday afternoon.
The Two Rivers Police Department says they were called to a home on the south side of town after someone reported that a man was threatening to stab a woman.
When police arrived, they said the man was “causing extensive amounts of damage” to cars owned by the woman, with what appeared to be a firearm in his hand, before fleeing the area.
The release from police continues: “On duty Police K9s from Manitowoc Police Department and Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, along with a drone from the Manitowoc Police Department were requested in attempts to locate the individual as it was believed he fled into the Woodland Dune Nature Preserve.”
“Ultimately through negotiations over the phone with Two Rivers Police, the suspect informed officers of his current location,” the release says.
Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office deployed the BearCat in order to safely take the man into custody. Police say he had a facsimile rifle with him.
The 33-year-old man is being held in jail on several charges, including battery-domestic violence, criminal damage to property-domestic violence, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, intimidation of a victim, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
