Jordan Love, QB1, meets the press at Lambeau.
ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It didn’t take long for Green Bay Packers fans to express their excitement and approval after learning that star quarterback Jordan Love agreed to a four-year, $220 million contract extension.
As hundreds of fans line the fences to watch Packers training camp this week, and Jordan Love’s now first day playing at camp, fans shared their thoughts.
“I knew it was coming, and sorta figured what they gave (Miami Dolphins quarterback) Tua (Tagovailoa) yesterday, I knew he would be offered that,” says fan Edward McKee, who traveled from Joliet, Illinois to watch training camp. “I think it’s good, it’s good he’s out here and back, hopefully, it won’t happen the same thing like Rogers where you give him all the money and then, you know… I’m happy for it.”
“Gotta sign him, you know, we don’t want to be like the Bears and have 18 quarterbacks in 15 years so, you gotta sign him, he’s a good guy,” said Al Kalug of Menominee Falls.
Five-year-old Easton from Germantown wants the world to keep in mind just how good the Packers are.
“The Packers are pretty good, they’ve done good for a while, 13 championships is a lot and they’ve done good.”
Sporting his Jordan Love jersey, he says it’s obvious why Love is his favorite player.
“He’s a good quarterback, he does good stuff. He’s just good.”
“Just Love the way he started last year, slow start and I know they were only going to look at him for the first 6 weeks, but then you know after what happened last part of the season, really looks like he has his boys behind him and stuff,” McKee adds.
And when it comes to now being the highest-paid NFL quarterback in history, “I know it’s high expectations, and like I said, somebody else will probably ask for more but I think he deserves it,” McKee says.
