(WNFL) – The Miami Marlins for the second straight night at American Family Field in Milwaukee got off to a fast start and went on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-3 on Saturday.
Miami took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a run-scoring double by Jesus Sanchez and an RBI single by Jonah Bride.
In the fourth inning, Rhys Hoskins put the Brewers ahead with a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season.
Miami struck back with 5 runs off the Brewers bullpen in the seventh, scoring 3 off of Jared Koenig and 2 off of Elvis Peguero to account for the final score.
Despite the loss, the Brewers maintained their 6-game lead over second-place St. Louis and 7-game lead over third-place Pittsburgh with both those teams also losing.
The two teams will meet in the series finale at 1:10 Sunday afternoon at American Family Field.
