(WTAQ-WLUK) — A member of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet is coming to Wisconsin next week during a tour of the Midwest.
Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to travel to Wisconsin and Michigan on Tuesday, with stops in the Green Bay area and the Upper Peninsula. He will be back in Wisconsin on Wednesday for a visit to the Milwaukee area.
Officials say Buttigieg will be touring three Great Lakes ports that are key to the regional economy.
Buttigieg will then travel to his home state of Indiana to tour the construction site of a clean energy manufacturing facility.
A news release states Buttigieg’s Midwest tour will “highlight how investments made possible by President Biden’s Investing in America agenda are strengthening rural communities, revitalizing domestic manufacturing, and supporting our national economy.”
Buttigieg traveled to Green Bay in May 2023 to tour the Port of Green Bay project. In April 2022, he was in Waushara County to visit the IUOE Wisconsin Operating Engineers Training Center in Coloma.
