MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Multiple Fox Valley law enforcement agencies are coming together for the return of a friendly competition.
The Arresting Hunger food drive campaign is back next month for the first time since it was suspended during COVID.
It encourages Fox Valley law enforcement agencies to collect the most food items for St. Joseph Food Program in Menasha.
Fox Crossing community liaison officer, Daniel Wiechman, says all agencies are excited to have this event return.
“Traditionally law enforcement is looked at as a community service that handles problematic issues that are criminal in nature. Being hungry is not a crime and this is an effort that we can make a difference in, in a different way. We can bring attention and awareness to the concern that there are people going to bed hungry every night,” he said.
The competition will run through the month of August.
Drop off locations include your local police department, St. Joseph Food Program, and your local “National Night Out” event in your community. If you’re dropping off at St. Joe’s, be sure to mention which law enforcement agency you’d like your donation to go towards.

The St. Joseph Food Program says it serves 600-700 families every week.
