GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two students were taken to a hospital for minor injuries after a school bus crashed on Green Bay’s east side Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the intersection of Crooks Street and S. Webster Avenue shortly after 7:30 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a school bus and a work van.
Witnesses reported that the work van ran a red traffic light and hit the bus with about seven children on board.
After the school bus was struck by the van, the school bus went over the curb and hit a tree.
The driver of the work was checked on by paramedics and will be cited, police say.
A traffic light was struck in the crash and is being repaired.
Police would not name the school the students are from.
