Methamphetamine-laced gummies. PC: City of Menasha Police Department
MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) — A recent traffic stop in Menasha lead to the discovery of methamphetamine-laced gummies.
Based on presumptive tests, Peter Sawyer, Lieutenant of Investigations with the Menasha Police Department, said its not clear if the gummies were made specifically for the consumption of meth, or if traces of meth had simply made their way onto the gummy.
“The gummy was encompassed with the methamphetamine, meaning that it was an original gummy,” said Sawyer. “It looks like most of the methamphetamine was on the exterior portion of it.”
He went on to say that this is something the department has never seen before, and that the community should stay vigilant about potential dangers lurking in the community. Additionally, parents should have conversations with their kids and be aware of what they’re consuming and were it comes from.
The gummies will be sent to the state crime lab for further testing.
