FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man is in custody following the robbery of a Fond du Lac bar.
Police received a call just after 10 p.m. Thursday for a report of an individual who had forcefully taken money from inside 18 Hands Ale Haus on E. Division Street and threatened to assault the bartender.
When officers arrived, the lone bartender, who was not hurt, told police the suspect ran away after taking money from the register.
Officers searched the area and also deployed a drone to try to find the suspect but they could not locate him.
When reviewing surveillance footage from inside the business, officers were able to identify the suspect as a 55-year-old Fond du Lac man known to police from prior contacts.
Searches for the suspect were on-going throughout the night and early morning hours.
Then around 6:18 a.m. Friday, police received a call from a passerby that the suspect was potentially in the area of the 600-700 block of W. Johnson Street.
Officers responded to the area and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Police say the suspect is facing multiple charges including robbery and bail jumping and was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
