OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A scaled-back version of a winter-time tradition took place today in Oshkosh’s Menominee Park
The 2024 Otter Street Fishing Club’s Fisheree started at 10 a.m. and wrapped up at 10 p.m.
Normally, there’s a fishing contest and a pond hockey tournament. Both had to be canceled due to our recent warm weather.
There were still raffles, food, refreshments, and live music.
Organizers say this is the main fundraiser for the club, so it’s tough when the main events can’t happen.
“A lot of times if we don’t have decent ice and some of these other activities that people can see or participate in, it does tend to be a little bit leaner, but the nice thing we have going for us today is it’s going to be warm out,” said Chris Anderson, the president of the Otter Street Fishing Club.
The fundraiser funds various projects the club helps out with throughout the year, including the kids’ fisheree in August.
