NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Neenah Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its K9 officers.
K9 Bobby passed away peacefully Monday morning at his home with his handler by his side after a short battle with cancer, the department said.
The seven-year-old K9 officer served on the department from 2018-2023.
During those five years, K9 officer Bobby took part in 154 narcotics detection deployments and 91 arrests. He located 481 grams of marijuana, 591 grams of methamphetamine, 12.16 grams of fentanyl, had finds of cocaine, heroin, and ecstasy, and seized $3,834.00 in currency. K9 Bobby was also called upon for 18 patrol deployments and was instrumental in locating three people and one handgun.
