DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– A structure fire at a two-story apartment complex happened on Sunday at approximately 6:15 a.m.
The fire happened at 1007 Coral Street Apartments in the basement of apartment 1.
Smoke was located at the front door of the apartment and occupants evacuated the area immediately.
Six occupants were taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation and evaluation and one cat was rescued from the fire and able to be reunited with family.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
Fire departments from the Village of Ashwaubenon, Town of Ledgeview, City of Green Bay, County Rescue, Town of Lawrence, assisted during the incident.
The fire caused an estimated $50,000 dollars in damage.
