APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — For the fourth year in a row, the city of Appleton is seeing a decrease in violent crime, according to the city’s crime data map.
Violent crimes include assault, burglary, robbery, sexual crimes, and OWI. These crimes are down 24% from 2022 to 2023.
Over the past four years; the numbers of violent crimes reported are as follows:
1,143 in 2020
739 in 2021
467 in 2022
358 in 2023
Across all four years, assault cases continue to be the biggest contributor to violent crime.
