GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Ticket prices for a Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field are not what they were a couple of weeks ago.
As the Packers’ playoff hopes are trending upward, so too are ticket prices.
“This has been a solid game all season for us, with it being the Super Bowl champs coming into Green Bay,” said Travis Loftus, manager of Ticket King in Green Bay.
He tells FOX 11 tickets for this week’s Sunday Night Football game are averaging anywhere from $170 and up.
Loftus says that’s a big improvement from weeks prior, where tickets were selling for as low as $75.
“That win against the Lions definitely gave us a shot in the arm,” said Loftus.
Earlier this month, FOX 11 spoke to a few fans who were able to pay less than $70 for the Packers’ Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
When we looked at ticket prices online via Ticketmaster on Wednesday, we found prices ranging from $100 to $650.
Is the potential visit from a global pop music superstar helping drive up those prices?
“There’s definitely a lot of chatter about Taylor Swift. We’ve got a lot of season ticket holders that are calling, asking, thinking the tickets are worth more than what they really are,” said Loftus.
However, Loftus doesn’t think Swift is having an impact on rising ticket prices.
“Maybe she’ll sneak-in in a popcorn machine or, I mean, the chances of seeing her are very slim,” said Loftus.
Loftus points to other factors, like the Packers winning three of their last four games, and two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes playing his first ever game at Lambeau Field.
Loftus also expects there to be plenty of Chiefs fans inside Lambeau Field on gameday.
